St. Luke NEW Life Center hosts summer picnic

FLINT, Michigan—St. Luke N.E.W. Life Center will host its annual summer picnic 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 11. The whole community is invited to attend.

The free event will include food, music, and giveaways, said Sister Carol Weber, director of St. Luke’s. The festivities will take øn St. Luke's campus at 3115 Lawndale Avenue in Flint.

St. Luke's N.E.W. (North End Women's) Life Center is a charitable organization founded in 2002 to provide job training, education, food, clothing and support to those in need. The summer picnic is one more way to provide for the community, Weber said.

“The whole concept is to bring the whole community together,” Weber said. “It’s just meant to be a fun time.”

There will also be a raffle for children’s bicycles as well as a distribution of new and slightly used clothing.
