Welcome to Flintside.
Flintside is an online news magazine about the Flint region. It’s about the city and the community that we know.
Flintside will explore the people who are working to better our community, the entrepreneurs starting and growing businesses here, and the innovators and the problems-solvers who are catalysts for change.
Flintside is available online at www.flintside.com as well as a free, weekly email magazine. Sign up here.
Operated by Issue Media Group, Flintside joins a family of publications across the state and nation. The Michigan-based company founded Model D in Detroit in 2005 and went on to launch more than 20 similar online magazines as far west as Denver and as far south as Tampa.
Issue Media Group was invited to explore the possibility of a Flint publication by several anchor organizations, and after working with community stakeholders for more than six months, launched its publication on March 13, 2017.
Flintside is funded through grants and sponsors underwriting coverage of topic areas, such as economic development, neighborhoods, health and transportation. Coverage of specific topic areas is supported, but Flintside maintains editorial independence. Funders do not assign, approve or review content.
