FLINT, Michigan — The Flint Area Chapter of the Links, Inc. will host its annual Black Family Wellness Expo at Hamilton Community Health Network’s Main Clinic at 2900 N. Saginaw St. in Flint. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will offer various health and wellness resources for community members.
The expo will provide services such as health insurance enrollment assistance, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, and information about the
Rx Kids Flint program.
Representatives from several community organizations will be available to share information and resources.
“We are thrilled to partner with The Links of Flint and extend a warm invitation to the community to discover the breadth of services Hamilton offers,” said Clarence Pierce, Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton. “Additionally, our community partners will be present, offering valuable resources to all attendees.”
Karen Pugh, President of the Flint Area (MI) Links, stated that the event aims to help residents access essential health resources. “Flint Area Links has developed a legacy throughout our 46 years in the Flint Community to help meet the needs of Genesee County residents. Over the past several years, we have recognized that many area families are not receiving regular medical care or screenings,” said Pugh.
She added that the partnership with Hamilton Community Health Network is intended to create a convenient location for residents to access healthcare programs and services.
In addition to health services, the expo will feature giveaways, including gift cards, a large-screen television, a car seat, and other items.
Several organizations, such as Rx Kids, Gift of Life, Molina Healthcare, Flint Registry, Genesee County Sheriff’s Office G.H.O.S.T., Meridian, and HAP CareSource, will also participate. Their focus will include preventive care, health education, safety resources, and insurance coverage.
Community members are encouraged to attend the expo to learn more about the available services. For more information about the event, residents can contact Hamilton at (810) 406-4246.
