Denise Bradley Moore of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church: Flint women of faith

Editor's note: This is part of a series of Flintside articles highlighting women religious leaders in Flint.

"A woman that fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30

FLINT, Michigan — Denise Bradley Moore is first lady of The Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she has served alongside her husband Rev. Daniel Moore Sr. for 10 years. Denise feels that her priority in ministry is to be the foremost supporter of her husband. She takes to heart the passage in Genesis 2:18: "And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him, and ardently serves in ministry with her husband, covers her husband in prayer, travels with him, and is his number one cheerleader."

Denise is also actively involved with the ministries of the Shiloh church. She works faithfully in the Music Ministry, the Kitchen Ministry, and The Vacation Bible School. She also plans events for the Youth Ministry and engages the millennials in ministry and fellowship. The millennials fondly call her “mom.”

Denise shares her husband’s passion for community outreach and evangelistic ministry. She works tirelessly with the water distribution program, the food distribution program, and all aspects of evangelistic outreach including Shiloh’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner where 250 people are served a hot meal every year.

Denise retired from J.C. Penney after 28 years. She loves being a housewife because of the freedom that it affords her to travel, babysit her grandchildren, and serve at the church. She is the proud mother of 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and a spoiled Yorkie named Aladdin.

Denise’s motto in life is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Throughout the month of March, Flintside will profile women in Flint’s religious community. If you are interested in participating or nominating a woman who should be profiled, please email [email protected].
