FLINT, Michigan — Next month, the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) will be hosting a career fair to attract educators and school staff. The event will be hosted at Genesee Career Institute Conference Center (5081 Torrey Rd) on Wednesday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

“This career fair is not only a way to fill vacant positions, but also an opportunity to continue providing outstanding programs and services to students in Genesee County,” said Eddie Kindle, GISD’s Associate Superintendent of Communications & Development.

Job seekers can look forward to on-site, one-on-one interviews for all vacant positions. If a career fair applicant is extended an offer of employment, GISD has announced they will cover the cost of fingerprinting and background checks. Because each role at GISD requires its own set of qualifications, Kindle advises that all interested individuals bring a cover letter, current resume, and list of references.

“GISD employees touch the lives of students in Genesee County in a variety of ways,” said Kindle. “Whatever you’re passionate about, we likely have a position where you can put your skills to work and make a positive impact on the students and families we have the pleasure of serving.”

At the event, GISD will be featuring positions for immediate hire and jobs that will begin next school year. Currently, the district is looking to fill the following positions:

  • Special Education Teachers
  • Para-Educators
  • Early Childhood Teachers
  • Classroom Support
  • Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Social Workers
  • School Psychologists
  • Finance
  • Payroll
  • Accounting Professionals
  • Bus Drivers
  • Transportation Aides
  • Custodial
  • Technology

“Individuals who work at GISD have the opportunity to assist families and students on their educational growth and development while engaging in a friendly work environment with competitive pay and benefits,” said Kindle.

The GISD career fair is a free event open to the public. For questions and additional support, job seekers are welcome to call the GISD District office at (810) 591-4260.For updated information on open positions and the necessary qualifications for each role, job seekers are encouraged to visit: www.gisdjobs.org
