Bethel United Methodist Church to host Good Friday Food Giveaway for families in need

FLINT, Michigan — With grocery prices climbing and many families feeling the strain, Bethel United Methodist Church is stepping up to support the community with a free Good Friday Food Giveaway on April 18, starting at 10 a.m. at 1309 N. Ballenger Hwy. in Flint.

Designed to help families enjoy a full and nourishing meal this Easter season, the giveaway aims to go beyond traditional baskets and candy to meet the real need for food. The event will continue until all supplies are gone, and no registration is required.

“In this season of renewal and reflection, we wanted to provide something truly meaningful—an opportunity for families to gather and share a real meal,” church leaders said. “This is our way of showing love and care to our community during a difficult time.”

In addition to the food distribution, children will be treated to a guest appearance by the Easter Bunny and receive special treats, adding a touch of celebration and fun for the whole family.

The church also invites all to join them for Easter Sunday service on April 20 at 9:30 a.m., held at the same location.
