FLINT, Michigan — This weekend brings an opportunity to celebrate and close out the year in style at Beats x Beers’ annual ‘Toast’ event. Held at Blackstone’s Smokehouse in downtown Flint, the festivities kick off at 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, and will feature a red carpet rollout and multiple DJ’s throughout the night.

Flint native Brandon Corder, creator of Beats x Beers and organizer of ‘Toast,’ recently told Flintside that this year’s celebratory bash has been in the makings since 2019. The rise of the pandemic in 2020 prevented him from going forward with the event last year but he’s confident that this year’s ‘Toast’ will be one for the books.

“I want this to be remembered as one of the best events of the year,” said Corder. “I want it to be an experience from top to bottom. From the entrance down to every single detail of the event will be an experience. It has to be legendary. I want it to be something people look forward to annually.”

Aside from taking precautions to ensure everyone is safe at ‘Toast,’ Corder says that another challenge during the planning process was selecting the perfect location. The location had to fit the upscale aesthetic of 2019’s ‘Toast’ and Blackstone’s Smokehouse fit the bill with its large space, sleek decor, and prominent stage area.

Tickets for ‘Toast’ are $40 and those in attendance are asked to wear cocktail attire and to bring a toy to donate which will be given to Whaley Children’s Center.

Guests can expect to enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and table/bottle service as well as a big toast at some point in the night.

“You can expect a celebration, it’s been a rough two years for many,” said Corder. “Seeing that we didn’t get to have Toast last year, we have to make up for it this year so we’re celebrating making it through these last two years and carrying over that positive energy into 2022.”

Tickets and information for the event are available online.
