This all-Flint fashion show brought to you by 18-year-old Mario Boone

This all-Flint fashion show is being brought to you by 18-year-old Mario Boone Jr., a student at Mott Middle College who wanted to see his city have more entertainment options.

So he made one.

“Everyone involved in the show, from the designers, vendors, models, and performers are all from Flint,” Boone said. Billed as “Flint’s Finest Fashion Show” Run Up the Runway is 5 p.m. March 30 at The Rec Center, 8033 N. Dort Highway. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

It’s presented by Run It Up Attire, a business and clothing line started by Boone.

Among the 10 designers contributing to the show are Dee.Lux Styles by De’Air Amad Lewis Culbreath, Motive Clothing by Jemini Green, Konflicted Kulture by Deijana Rhodes, and Grind 24/7 by Destin Graham. Plus vendors also will be on hand, Boone said.

Run It Up Attire is inspired by the “need to have more,” Boone said. “Work for what you want and need because no one is going to give it to you. When you work for something you really want, when you get it, it feels so much better.”
